"In Mind" by Brothertiger

Amongst the soothing melodies that caught my ear for the last few days, an exquisite one definitely stood out - this little piece of discovery of mine is called "In Mind" by Brothertiger, ladies and gentleman. Powerful beats from 80s or maybe 90s, yet it makes you relax, chill out and perhaps cleanse your mind from those gray clouds. Has a pinch of optimism in it.

I came across them thanks to Mush Records' feed on Soundcloud found here. Thanks to the tumblr-based website of the band (www.brothertiger.com) we learn that it is kind of an individual project of young musician, namely John Jagos, who recently graduated from Ohio University. Backed by Jon Markson (bass) and Mike Feld (drums) on live shows, John started out on his adventure as a freshman at the university, working as a live performer on "Athens house party scene". The photo below is a shot from the said venue.

For the ones who want to contribute by buying their album, there seems to be a signed "Golden Years" CD that went on sale on the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/brothertiger) which is unfortunately sold out by now. No wonder that the band's wide success could be a little unexpected. There is little room to worry though, Brothertiger's Amazon page has much to offer.

Alright, I'll stop elaborating here and leave you with their amazing work.

One big reminder for those who reside in the US - Brothertiger is going to play in Denver in Denver Post Underground Music Showcase 2013 (July 18-21) as well as on Blue Ice (July 20).
